This place has been messing with us since day one. Half the stuff we do is because of something this camp has started. And we've all had to go through it, each one of us. Our memories, our feelings, our bodies, our clothes, there's nothing sacred. Those threads were bad enough, but that time Joe was the one who stayed sane. He fixed it then. And this was all before things went to hell.
It's not my place what goes on between him and Doc now. I should've put a stop to it when I had the chance, and I failed. He never wanted to go after Doc, he wanted me. That's my fault, not his. But it's this place that messed with Joe's head, just like it's done with the rest of us. You can't forget that.
... I won't forget what Basco's done, even if he says he doesn't know yet. I dunno when he'll remember, and I don't care. That doesn't matter to me. But there's no point in fighting him here. He won't stay dead even if we try. I don't have to like it, and I don't have to like what you guys do. But going after him is a good way to die, and I won't let that happen to any of you again if I can help it.
